How Much Does Home Computer Repair Cost?

Onsite repairs and consulting for general computer problems is a fixed hourly rate of $120 + GST for the first hour plus a callout fee appropriate to your area. Any further hours are charged at $120 + GST in 15 minute blocks.

Security & Confidentiality

Whilst completing any home or business computer support work, our trusted consultants will never copy data from your computer (unless requested by you) and your data and systems will remain absolutely confidential. We pride ourselves on our integrity.

When Can JMCS Visit?

All onsite repairs at your home are completed between 1pm and 6pm Monday to Friday.
If urgent we will work outside the hours to have you up and running again. Although a premium may apply. If an onsite computer repair at your Home or Business does not suit you then you should try our Drive In Repair Service.

How Do JMCS Drop-Off Computer Repairs Work?

It's too easy! Just call our helpdesk to arrange to drop off your computer's base unit (this is the box that your keyboard, mouse and monitor plugs into) at our service centre.

We start working on the system immediately and will call you when it is ready or if it needs replacement parts, software or we need to do some work on the problem that will exceed the standard 90 minutes.

How Much Does a JMCS Drop-Off Computer Repair Cost?

The standard computer drop-off repair costs just $99 excluding GST for 90 minutes of diagnostics and repair. Any further hours are charged at $89 + GST in 15 minute blocks.

With the following optional extra items provided for FREE;
  • Free antivirus scan
  • Free spyware scan
  • Free trojan scan
  • Free security check
  • Free install and/or update of personal firewall software
  • Free update and configuration of your computer's security configuration to make sure that
    your system is safe
  • Free install of Avast Antivirus Software or Trend Micro PC-Cillin (30 Day Trial)
 

How Does the $25 Inspection Charge Work?

Simple. After you drop off your computer, we spend 15 minutes on diagnostics to understand if the problem that the system has is recoverable within the 90 minute package.

We will contact you if we think the problem needs replacement parts or cannot be fixed in the 90 minute period. You will be given the option of either upgrading to an extended repair or you can pick up your computer at a $25 inspection charge.

Do You Offer a Pickup & Delivery Service?

Yes but only during business hours. The pricing for pickup and delivery is $25 each way (Taupo Area Only). Other areas we recommend you using NZ Couriers or Courier Post.  Please make sure your computer is packed very well & labeled "Fragile - Handle with Care".
Please call our helpdesk to find out what the timeframe for a pickup service is in your area.

For a pickup and delivery service you should factor in 2-4 business days in which to get your PC delivered back to you.

Is this a Nationwide Service?

Yes, we are now able to provide a pickup and delivery service nationwide. For areas outside of Taupo, we use an overnight courier service and you should book as soon as possible

Back-Up Your Data First!

Any computer repair work can cause damage to systems or data. We recommend that you back-up any important data or systems before dropping your computer off with us for repairs. We are extremely careful with your computers systems and have highly qualified technicians but cannot guarantee that data will not be effected by repairs.

 Payment terms are cash, EFTPOS, Visa, & Mastercard only  (Mobile eftpos for onsite jobs) .
Payment for New Hardware or Software is required at the time you  place the Order due to our suppliers
placing the same policy on us.  We  pay for all goods at the time of ordering them with our suppliers.
 JMCS take no responsibility for damage during transfer or repair of computers. Computer repairs are completed at owner's risk and we recommend that a full backup is completed prior to any computer repairs being conducted.
