I have the following Peachey ancestor and wonder if any of this relates to yours or maybe you have come across some information on them.
My 4 x Gr-Grandfather was William Peachey born Suffolk, circa1800. He
married the scottish Christianna McLachlan (or Mauchlan) in 1820 at
Paisley, Scotland. He was a soldier in the rifle brigade and the family
seem to have moved often. They had the following children;
William born Portsmouth 1829
Sarah " Chatham 1833
Alexander " Jersey, Channel Islands 1835
Robert Duncan born Wissett, Suffolk 1843
These are all the children I know of. I am descended from Robert Duncan Peachey who came out to Australia before 1869 as he married Elizabeth Merton in April of that year.
I would be most interested to hear of your Peachey family and as I collect any references of this name I would be pleased to pass on any information to you .

William PEACHEY, Born in Walsham-Le-Willows, Suffolk c1798 (source, Army records) joined the British Army in 1813 and married Christianna MCLACHLAN
in 1820 at Paisley, Scotland. They had 6 known children born in many
different places as they travelled in the army. Children's names were
David(born c1825), William (born1829, Portsmouth,Hampshire) , Sarah (born 1833 Chatham, Kent.), Duncan (?), Alexander(bapt.1835 Jersey, Channel Is.) and Robert Duncan (born1843 Wissett, Suffolk).
In 1857 William and Christianna Peachey arrived in Australia with their daughter, Sarah and son William Jnr. and his wife. By 1869 Robert Duncan Peachey was also living in Australia. I am a descendant of Robert Duncan Peachey.
I have details of Robert Duncan's children in Australia, so if you could tell me if the information you have is anything more than this. I would love to hear about anything your researcher came across, but don't want you to think I am just out to get what I can from your info.

I am new to this list and am just delighted to find such a great PEACHEY Web site. I have been in the background for a few weeks and would now like to "come out" and tell of my Peachey interests ;
William PEACHEY born c1799 at Walsham-Le-Willows, Suffolk. His parents were David and Mary PEACHEY (nee GODDARD/GODHEAD). They may have been from around the Beccles area of Suffolk.
William joined the army in 1813 and married Christianna MCLACHLAN in 1820 at Paisley, Scotland. They had 6 known children born in many different places as they travelled in the army.
