My Gr Gr Gr Grandfather was Reuben Peachey, who married Elizabeth Godfrey 3 May 1779 in Mildenhall, Suffolk. Reuben's grandson Abraham, came to Canada around 1850-51 and that is the strain from which I originate. Abraham, my great grandfather, was born in Reach,CAM and was christened in Burwell CAM. Hello, everyone. I just discovered the trip you were all on, and hope I may join you. I am a PEACHEY descendant in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada. My great grandmother was a PEACHEY, born in Burwell, Cambridgeshire, but emmigrated to Canada between November 1869 and November 1871. I have traced her lineage back to Reuben PEACHEY (see below) but here the trail ends. Hope someone on board has the same relatives, and can help me get beyond Reuben. It's probable that our families are related but we don't know how yet. The furthest we can trace our ancestors is to ROBERT PEACHY of Mildenhall, Suffolk. His son SAMUEL PEACHY wentt to Richmond County, VA in 1659. We are looking for more information on our English ancestors like siblings of Robert and Samuel and their descent from William de Peche I. There's a gap of more than a hundred years between the departure of Samuel Peachy from Mildenhall and the date of the earlist information of your ancestor, Reuben Peachy. The Peachey's and Peachy's of Mildenhall seem to be a key family in the reconstruction of Peach/Peachey/Peachy descent from the Normans and many families in England and the former colonies of England. Research in Mildenhall seems to be called for here to resolve many problems. When, from where and how the Peachy's got to Mildenhall is the big question in our minds.
