Subject: [PEACH] PEACHEY James KS>MO>ARFrom: "Robinson, Kristin L"
Hello
I thought I would jump in with my PEACHEY line. James PEACHEY b. Mar 1832 in ENG-maybe Sussex, emigrated abt 1853 perhaps with other unnamed brothers. I find him in 1870 Cass Co. MO Census: James age 37 ENG, wife Susan age 19 IL, son Benjamin 2 KS. Benjamin Franklin was born 1 Jan 1868 in Olathe, Johnson Co. KS. The 1880 Census for Bates Co. MO has James a widower age 47, Frank age 12 and James jr age 10 b. MO. I am searching for Susan's death record/place of burial. I next find James living with son Frank in 1900 in Siloam Springs, Benton co. AR. Frank had married Louisa Bell MARGISON in1888 and had 6 children. William, John, Charles, Verne, Effie, Ethel. James is still living with Frank and family in the 1910 Census for Siloam Springs, AR. He died in 1913 and is buried in Siloam Springs. I don't know what happened to James jr. I have a note written by my grandfather, Frank and Louisa's youngest child-Emmett Inez b. 1909 which says that James was the son of John Peachey of West Sussex who was the son of a Sir Bulstrode Peachey MP for Petworth, West Sussex. Well there was a Bulstrode Peachey in West Sussex but he lived in the 1750's much too old to be James' grandfather and I have yet to find any record of any children he may have had. He did have many brothers and perhaps my James came from one of these branches. I have searched ALL the 1851 Census record for Sussex and found no family with a James age18-19. I find it curious that there was another James Peachey who married a Susan in Kansas and I have always kept it in the back of my head that my James may connect to the Suffolk branch someday.
