I am still in search of anyone
that may have any information on the following people; George
Edward Peachey b.1901 of Trangie, NSW, Australia Rose
L Lee b.1907 of Dubbo, NSW, Australia Edward James
Peachey b.1928 of Dubbo or Coonamble, NSW, Australia
George Peachey son of George Edward Peachey Jackey
Peachey son of George Edward Peachey
George Edward Peachey was the son
of Edward Field Peachey & Sarah Jane Giddins/Giddings
of Trangie, NSW, Australia.
Edward James Peachey is my father
whom I last saw when I was 3 years old. He lived
with my mother in New Zealand from about 1966 to 1970
and we heard he moved back to Australia in about 1973.
His last job in New Zealand was with Motor Industries
or VW Motors in Fort Richard Road, Otahuhu, Auckland
as a gateman as far as we know. He was a sharer/gardener/fencer
in both Australia & New Zealand and also drove big
trucks for a living. He had a ginger beard &
hair and also had a pin in his leg from a war wound?. George
Edward Peachey (My Grandfather) worked on the railroads
& was also a baker I think. He traveled from
Queensland regularly to see my Great Aunty Ethel May
Peachey (Blatchford) in Dubbo. George's parents Edward
& Sarah lived in Mullah Street in Trangie, NSW. Hopefully
someone may be able to remember something.
As a result of my cousin
Peter Miller in Paramatta, NSW putting an advertisment
in the "In Search" section of the Australian
Daily Mirror he has come up with the following results
in moments of the advert going in.
Peter has spoken to cousin Terry
and garthered the following info; My uncle George
Peachey is living in Sydney & also Uncle Jackey's
younger son Terry Peachey (McCormack) also living &
working in Sydney. My father Ted Peachey died
in Melbourne 20 January 1978 of stomach cancer 6mths after being married. (see watch marriage
does) Sorry bad joke. Jackey died in 1995 of a
brain tumor. Grandmother Rose Peachey died in 1952 &
Grandfather George Peachey in the middle 60's.
Funny
enough also as a result of a Salvation Army search at
the sametime they have spoken to Uncle George &
will be passing on my details to him for contact very
soon I hope.
Thank god, finally closure is near.
This has been the result of about 5 years searching.
And in the end they were almost under our noses.
Will post more here soon when
I have spoken to Uncle George & cousin Terry.
Update
2005/2006 I caught up with
Uncle George in Maryong, near Parramatta, NSW, whilst
we were over for Bathurst 2005. He was all well and
living with a nice lady who looks after him well.
I didn't manage to catch up with Terry thou. Whilst
we were there we drove up to Dubbo, Trangie & Coonamble
for a look around. I visited Edward Field Peachey
& Sarah Giddings grave in Trangie. See photos
for picture of their HeadStones. Uncle George gave
me all of Dad's & his own war & other medals
to care for and hand down to my youngest child to hand
down to his and so on. Thank you Uncle George.
I suppose this means I will have to attend the
Dawn Parade & wear their war medals each year. It
was great to catch up with Uncle George, he was a really
nice man & very easy to get on with. I hope
we catch up again soon. Maybe when & if I
get over in October 2007 for Bathurst, I will revisit
him again.
